A Saturday in September: Lidl for the weekly stuff, then the smaller shop across the road for the things Lidl never has. Two receipts in my pocket. Back home I opened Listo, photographed the first receipt, added the second one as another page, and tapped Scan. The review came back with Lidl's items, neatly priced, and not a single line from the second shop. The scanner had been told, by me, that extra pages are always more of the same receipt. It did exactly what it was told. The second shop vanished.
That is fixed in the latest update. One scan can now hold several receipts, from several shops, each of them as many pages as it needs. Add every page, tap Scan once, and the review shows every item from every receipt.
What you see after the scan
- One section per receipt, headed "Receipt 1 · Lidl", "Receipt 2 · Profi" and so on, each with that receipt's own total. The total at the top is the sum of all of them.
- Every item, including the ones you never put on the list. Unplanned purchases show up too, so the list ends up matching what you actually bought.
- Shops stay where they were. With one receipt, Listo still matches or creates the shop for you, as it always did. With several, it does not push the first shop onto everything; the items keep whatever shop you had given them.
- Discounts still come along. If any of the receipts has a discount line, the discounts box appears, and only then.
- A new list from a multi-shop scan is named after all the shops on it, so next week's list already says where you went.
Two trips, one item
The part I use most is quieter. If the weekend list says "water × 6" and you buy six at the first shop and six more at the second, the second scan does not overwrite the first. Quantities and prices that came from a receipt add up across scans, so the list shows twelve and the spend is the real spend. Anything you typed by hand is still replaced by what the receipt says, because the receipt is the one that was there.
Try it
- Open the list you shopped from and tap the receipt icon, or use the scan button.
- Photograph the first receipt. Long one? Add its second half as another page. Then add the pages of the next receipt, and the next.
- Tap Scan once. Check the sections, fix a name if the paper was crumpled, and apply.
Receipt scanning is part of Listo Premium, like before. Everything else about your lists stays free, and a receipt photo lives only as long as the list it belongs to.
